Dental Clinic in Box Hill

We are a family owned practice, operated by a brother and sister team. All our clinicians pride ourselves on treating our patients like family.

Our Box Hill Dental practice is not owned or dictated by a large corporation or private health fund - so this means we work for you - and only you, our patient. At Landale Dental, we are patient centric, not target driven.

All the clinicians completed their university dental degrees in Australia and are members of the Australian Dental Association.

Only Australian laboratories manufacture our laboratory work, which means high-quality workmanship and TGA approved materials.

Dr Michelle Jeyaratnam (Dentist)

Michelle has been with the team at Landale Dental since 2015. Since graduating from The University of Adelaide in 2010, Michelle has also worked as a dentist in the coastal town of Warrnambool and in public dentistry in Melbourne. During this time, she also supervised final year Melbourne University dental students as a clinical tutor. Her clinical and mentoring roles in these settings have set her up with valuable skills across a vast range of patients and treatment plans. Michelle enjoys all aspects of dentistry but also has a special interest in Invisalign® clear aligners, crown and bridge work, cosmetic dentistry, special needs dentistry and providing dental treatment in the general anaesthetic setting. Michelle’s sensitive and caring approach is ideal for treating the nervous or even dental phobic. Outside of work, Michelle loves being with her 2 year old son and baby daughter. She also enjoys dress-making (though less time for this these days!)

Dr Shelton Jeyaratnam (Principal Dentist)

Shelton received his dental qualification from The University of Sydney in 2008. He was resident medical officer (surgical residency) at the prestigious Monash Medical Centre where he gained valuable experience in oral surgery, pathology, medically compromised, special needs, cleft lip-palate patients and emergencies. During his time as a dentist, Shelton has worked in regional Victoria, Melbourne suburbs and Collins Street city private practices and community.

Shelton is an active member of the community and enjoys being a St John Ambulance volunteer. He has also had active roles in the Australian Dental Association as part of the infection control committee, and has taught dental students at La Trobe University. Shelton particularly enjoys paediatric dentistry, implant restorations, laser dentistry, emergency cases and oral surgery. His particular enjoyment is on holistic treatment plans, focusing on long lasting health and beautiful smiles.

Prior to studying dentistry, Shelton completed Bachelor of Business Systems at Monash University (Faculty of I.T.). He finished with a First Class Honours degree from his thesis on using neural networks to predict radionecrosis in oncology patients. On weekends, Shelton also enjoys tennis, cinema & music festivals, and playing guitar.

Mrs Debra Harper (Dental Therapist)

Debra graduated as Dental Therapist in Sydney. She completed a diploma in counselling studies and worked as a counsellor for a number of years. She has lectured at Melbourne University on behaviour management of children and communication.

Debra has many years of experience working with children of all ages and adolescents and is passionate about children (and parents) having a positive experience in a dental environment. Her bright and enthusiastic approach is infectious. Debra is married to Andrew and they have 3 young adult children. Her spare time is taken up with cooking for family and friends, reading, watching movies, playing hockey and bike riding.

Debra also holds leadership roles within community healthcare in the Eastern suburbs. She is looking forward to contributing to international health in a visit to the Philippines for charity.
